Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
“He’s a household gnome. What could possibly go wrong?”
Smashing, delightful and absolutely cracking, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is another wonderfully witty Aardman stop-motion adventure that features the maniacal return of cinema’s most menacing bird, Feathers McGraw, in a crispy crime caper full of naughty gnomes and lots of laughs.
Discussion Points:
Aardman continue to benefit from being given a good budget and complete creative freedom to deliver absolutely smashing work! Only the second feature-length Wallace & Gromit feature, Vengeance Most Fowl does feel ultimately more like an extended feature short than a cinematic feature length film, but that’s more down to the scale and size of the story (and smaller cast of characters). But any length or amount of Wallace & Gromit is guaranteed to be absolutely cracking, especially when it’s a tremendous sequel to the original Wallace & Gromit short: The Wrong Trousers way back in 1993, released over 30 years ago! I was absolutely swept up in the joyous adventure, fast-paced animated action, chaotic robot gnome antics and dastardly penguin plotting! I really hope we continue to get more Wallace & Gromit sooner than later, because they continue to be some of the most endearing and comforting characters in the media landscape. It’s almost impossible to walk out of this film without feeling warm and cozy.
