The Fall Guy

“We’re going to set this man on fire.”

Explosive, energetic and fun, The Fall Guy is a love letter to filmmaking, stunt work, and hopeless romantics with two star crossed leads and plenty of adrenaline fuelled action in a self-aware spoof of action comedies filled with cheese and cheers.

Discussion Points:

Such a fun, entertaining and easygoing film. Not revolutionary, but refreshingly self-aware, with Gosling and Blunt’s chemistry richly ricocheting. David Leitch’s passion for stunt performances is so evident, despite the glossy sheen, with so many stunning stunt spectaculars. From car chases, to fierce fights, to boat jumps, every classic and contemporary aspect of stunt work gets a moment to shine. But it’s not just a stunt showcase, the film has a fun, and romantically rewarding story that provides hefty amounts of heart and humour. Add a great soundtrack, and stunning shots of Sydney, and The Fall Guy is the complete package when it comes to entertaining popcorn blockbusters.
